Tuner DMC brings more speed and image to the modified Maserati MC20 in this red and black edition.
Supercars like the Maserati MC20 are pinnacles of engineering and performance, often showcasing cutting-edge technology and supreme attention to detail.
Most of us can dream of driving or owning a supercar and experiencing the thrill of racecar speed and sensations as-well as bask in the style and exclusivity that is innate in most high-end performance vehicles.
But there is another subset of wealthy customers who require their supercars to be more powerful, more exclusive and even bolder – for these type of clients there are a wealth of options in 2022.
For the YouTubers and venture capital enthusiasts, the Maserati MC20 Sovrana package by German tuners DMC has got you covered: we check out this Maserati for people with deep pockets and even greater taste.
On the DMC tuner’s website there are details and photos of the upcoming package for the Maserati MC20.
The MC20 is the spiritual successor to the early-00s MC12 supercar created for homologation in racing, a limited-run 630 hp mega machine for those lucky (and wealthy) enough to secure one of the 50 production road cars.
Maserati’s MC20 is all new, with an engine half the size (a 3-liter twin-turbocharged Nettuno V6) that also makes 620 hp like the MC-12’s 6-liter naturally-aspirated V12.
Upon its release, the MC20 wowed many with its styling and design and the performance figures are similarly impressive: just over 3 seconds to 60 mph – which, although not as impressive as the very fastest hypercars – is fast enough for most MC20 owners for sure.
Despite this, DMC are offering a package to make the car faster and better at speed – enter the Sovrana MC20.

Firstly, the changes under the hood are impressive considering the original power output, with power jumping from 621 hp to 705 hp and torque jumping from 538 lb-ft to a useful 646 lb-ft.
DMC mentions on its website: “A performance-optimised ECU, an air filter with increased air throughput and a sports exhaust system with two double-suction tail pipes enhance the performance…”
Just the ticket for boosting power to stoplight-race-winning levels of acceleration, but most importantly, it will supposedly be that much faster on a track too, with the “…progressive sport suspension in the front and rear axles, which lower the vehicle’s center of gravity by around 30 millimeters. Contact to the tarmac gets maintained by 255/30 R 20 front tires and 305/30 R 21 tires at the back”.
So the package is more than skin deep, then but the exterior and cabin design is similarly striking.

DMC calls the exterior design cherry red and carbon fiber and the color is both original and pleasant, while having a certain potential to turn heads at the racetrack, Monaco boulevard or air-conditioned garage museum.
To quote DMC on the exterior design: “newly designed front fender with discreet GT3 Vents gives the front a significantly more sporty appearance, and the carbon fiber radiator grille highlights the famous Maserati trident in the center of the grille. Additional air inlets and outlets enable the new light-construction bonnet to optimally regulate the temperature in the engine compartment”.
A rear lip spoiler in carbon fiber, carbon fiber inserts for the integrated exhausts in the rear apron and a rear diffuser finish off the look.
Along with the exterior color theme there’s a cherry red leather interior too along with various upgrades in the finest materials such as the aluminum pedals and redesigned steering wheel.
It looks elegant and dangerous at the same time, which is arguably what you want in your super car along with stonking performance.
It’s unclear how much the DMC package costs, but presumably there will be a substantial premium over the expensive cost of a new or used donor Maserati MC20.
The company got founded in Germany around 2009 and since then opened hot spots in other locations such as Hong Kong and the Middle East.
Starting with the Lamborghini as its bread and butter, the tuners cut their teeth on the Lamborghini Diablo, Murcielago and Gallardo before earning “over-night fame when it launched the Aventador “Molto Veloce” in 2012.”
Maserati designs and their historical ties to racing have always been impressive and slightly quirky, down to their road cars – the association with Ferrari’s own engines and their particular blend of Italian style have kept Maserati coming back again and again - now you can have one of their best ever designs in cherry red.
