Since Regera means "to rule" in Swedish, it is only fitting this Koenigsegg Regera dominates most hypercars with its 1500 HP.
Christian Von Koenigsegg made it his life goal to make the best in the hypercar world using his engineering background and creating some of the best technological advancements in the automotive world such as the single gear direct drive. He has given the world cars such as the Agera R which has a great part in the movie adaption of Need For Speed. In cvdzijden's new YouTube clip, we're given a glimpse at one of the latest creations from the Koenigsegg lab. The Regera.

The Regera is relatively new on the hypercar market. The Koenigsegg website posts that this is their grand touring model. Its design allows it to be a more luxurious model than the traditional race-inspired cars. This does not mean it is any slower, however. The vehicle offers an 1100-HP 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric drive engine offering an additional 700hp through the world's first automotive 800-volt system. Combined this makes a power output of 1500HP and 1500 Ft-lbs of torque. This drives through a single gear system designed by Koenigsegg called Direct-Drive.
The vehicle starts up in a garage at the beginning of the video. The sound that exits the massive single exhaust is similar to that of a jet plane. We hear the low grumbling of the high displacement V8 but we also hear a whining similar to that of a supercharger. This noise is most likely the single gear transmission, which Christian Von Koenigsegg explains as being like a torque converter manual clutch and a seventh gear all rolled into one. The Regara exits the garage into the sunlight at the 1:22 mark of the video and we can hear the astonishment of the crowd as the body lines are lay bare to the light in a beautiful artistic array of carbon fiber and kevlar.

At the 4:45 mark in the video, the driver gets out of the car and allows cvdzidjen to take a look at the interior. It is clad in white leather and Alcantara with carbon fiber inserts in the dash. The carbon-fiber tub is still visible but blends in incredibly well with the center console and dash and is a stark contrast to the white leather. Our host continues to showcase and do the complete tour of the car silently until the 5:57 mark of the video when the fly-by happens. Being a single gear this is the part everyone has been waiting for. It sounds like everything you would imagine it to be. If you were to close your eyes you would swear this was a giant movie monster noise from a King Kong movie. What a sound.
