There is no doubt that the new generation BMW M3 is like no other before. BMW gave it an interesting look thanks to that massive grille, and, for the first time ever, it has an all-wheel-drive system. Add to this an amazing 503 horsepower under the hood, and you will see why the new M3 enjoys a lot of attention from tuners lately. Especially the more powerful M3 Competition. Senner is one such tuner, and it’s put some pretty extensive work into the new M3.
In Competition form, the current generation BMW M3 is the most powerful M3 ever built. It comes with a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter inline-six engine that delivers a total of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. This is 30 horsepower more than the standard M3, and an extra 74 pound-feet of torque.
But as usual, even when compared to some of the most powerful cars, there is still room for improvement. Senner Tuning found a solution to increase the output up to a total of 630 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. While it did not reveal how this was possible, we assume the work done is the traditional Senner Wagner Competition air cooler, with a charge pipe and boost pipe, and the remapped ECU. It’s true that these represent an increase of 127 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque, but just the other day G-Power unveiled the MH3 GTR - a kit for the same M3 that took the numbers up to 650 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
Senner also updated the series M sport exhaust system with a module for manually controlling the exhaust valves, but soon it will also offer a completely new, valve-controlled sport exhaust system with sport downpipes.
In true Senner spirit, the exterior of the BMW M3 received a few cosmetic upgrades. Our favorites are the carbon fiber roof and the laser lights. But the tuner also opted for a cool Black Sapphire Metallic, an M compound braking system, and an M sport differential. The interior was also updated with a carbon fiber trim. Of course, there is also a new set of wheels, and Senner opted for ultra-lightweight HE.1-FF wheels sized 10x21" up front and 11x21" in the back. They are wrapped in high-performance tires, sized 275/25R21 and 295/25R21.
And last but not least, the tuner opted for updating the suspension that will allow bringing the M3 closer to the ground. The new system includes multi-adjustable Variant 4 coilover suspension that allows for separate adjustment of the compression stage in the low and high-speed range.
