It's a special track-focused version of the Huayra and one of the most coveted hypercars of the last decade.
Today, Pagani is the only independently owned Italian supercar brand. Ferrari is now a publicly listed company, and Lamborghini is under the Volkswagen Group. This is a remarkable feat by the Horacio Pagani-owned outfit that remains true to its limited production volumes mantra while the competition adjusts to meet corporate revenue targets. Currently, the classy boutique automaker is working on its upcoming C10 hypercar, which will be making its public debut in September and succeeding the decade-old Huarya. In that period, we have witnessed some incredible versions of the Huayra, including cool one-offs like the Futura, Huayra Pearl, the Hermes Edition, and the Scozia.
We are in for a delightful hypercar treat if the new car is anything like the Zonda or the Huayra. Even after it arrives, Pagani will still produce the last two variants of Huayra, the hardcore track only R and the Huayra BC Roadster, until they meet their target production numbers.
Pagani introduced the Huayra HC in 2016 as an enhanced follow-up to the incredible standard Huayra standard hypercar. It was named to honor of Horacio Pagani’s late friend Benny Caiola. He was an Italian-American real estate mogul, Pagani’s first customer, and Horacio’s source of inspiration over many years.
Pagani envisioned the BC as a road-going car with maximum smiles per mile and performance on track days. Thus, it drew lots of inspiration from its track-focused predecessors, the Pagani Zonda R and the Zonda Cinque.

In 1999 Pagani unleashed the Zonda with the large naturally aspirated V12, and it remained ever-present in many cars in the Pagani lineup. With time, they introduced forced induction, and the Huayra debuted with a bespoke Mercedes-AMG-developed 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 mill codenamed M158. For the BC, the engine saw heavy revision, which saw power output jump to 754 ponies and 738 lb-ft of torque.
And if you are wondering about the carbon footprint, the engine is approved by the California Air Resource Board and EU6. Also, the titanium sports exhaust produces intense and exciting acoustics for a unique driving experience.
With the massive power output and reduced weight, the RC is incredibly fast and can launch to 60mph in 2.8 seconds and max out at 230mph. The car also came with updates to improve the handling potential and gracefully put this massive power output on the ground. Weight is distributed 48/52% to the front and rear to pivot the car around its center of gravity. The steering feels heavy but reassuring and accurate.
They revised the suspension to give it a more controllable feel when cornering at high speeds. It featured a four-wheel independent double wishbone, fully adjustable dampers upper rocker arm with coil spring, and shock absorber adjustable Ohlins. They resulted in a stiffer ride but with sufficient bump absorption.

Pagani’s loyal customers demanded a manual, and the new unnamed C10 hypercar will feature a manual transmission. The BC didn’t have one, but the bespoke 7-speed Automated Manual Transmission is incredibly accurate with increased precision of gear engagement.
Xtrac developed the gearbox, and it came with a new electro-hydraulic actuation system, carbon fiber synchronizers, and revised clutch control. Also, they paired the transmission with a new electronic active differential, allowing it to adapt to changing driving conditions, maximizing traction and increasing the car’s stability.
Pagani has high expertise with composites and exotic leather-making that Airbus contracts them to work on their A319 Neo business jet. This reflects the level of detail in their car’s cabins, including the Huayra BC. It featured a bespoke design and exquisitely detailed interior with upscale materials. Less is more, and they built the interior to save the most weight while creating a racing appeal.
The gullwing doors offer easy ingress and egress into the cabin, where you meet steampunk-themed elements like the many exposed and beautiful features like the gear shifter, carbon fiber, and Alcantara seats.
A noticeable difference with the standard car is the more aggressive stance which Pagani claims reflected Caiola’s enthusiasm for the brand. The roof panel is the only panel shared between the two cars, with the BC deploying brand new panels everywhere else.
The Huayra BC is a genuine work of art whose artfully sculptured exterior panels contributed to improved aerodynamics, further enhancing performance. But the aero story doesn’t end there, seeing they designed the ducts and inlets to increase air speed and extract maximum performance.

The standard Huayra could feel unruly when pushed to the limits, but Pagani fixed this with improvements like the suspension change to make the BC feel more controllable. The updated car feels more accessible in handling and planted even with the power increase, thanks to the bespoke Pirelli Road tires and an improved driver-selectable traction control system.
Yet it stays true to the character and dynamic ability that turned the Zonda into a disruptive supercar. Those who could afford the $2.5 million asking price got a rewarding driving experience in return.
When the Huayra BC debuted, it was the most technologically advanced Huayra Coupe yet, featuring innovations that have trickled down to the current crop of Pagani cars. It was more than a restyling of the standard car and came with innovative changes across every inch of the car.
It was lighter all-around, weighing just 2685 pounds. It shaved off 291 pounds from the standard Huayra thanks to a new composite dubbed Carbo-Triax. Plus, it was more powerful and with a different persona to the Huayra.

It’s a Pagani, so this is no surprise the Huayra BC is a rare exotic find. The boutique outfit has a self-imposed limit of producing no more than 50 cars across all models per year. Initially, Pagani had plans to produce a limited run of 20 Huayra BC cars.
But they ended up over the car to 30 units. Some original customers probably lost their cool because the extra ten units diluted the exclusive status. Still, the car is among the rarest collector items money can buy.
