QJMotor's New 600cc Sportbike; Looks Like A Cut-price Ducati Panigale That's Coming For The Honda CBR650R

QJMotor, the Chinese partner company of big names like Harley-Davidson and MV Agusta, is on course to update its 600cc sportbike, the 600RR, in a couple of days. Lucky for us, though, most of its details are already out, all suggesting that it’s more than capable of taking on the popular Honda CBR650R.

Taking up the aesthetics first, the 600RR is getting a massive visual update for this year, as it sheds its previous design and slips into a sportier, more radical attire.

The fascia is clearly inspired by the Ducati Panigale V4 and even boasts faux carbon-fiber wings, mounted on the new and sharper fairings. This is complemented by an equally sharp tail end, making the whole motorcycle quite appealing.

Apart from the design, not much has changed on the feature front, mainly because the 600RR was already packed with features as is. The list includes a TFT instrument cluster, dual discs, ABS, smartphone connectivity, USB charging port, and all-LED lighting.

The biggest change for 2022, however, is to the engine. QJMotor has eked out an extra 7 horsepower from the four-cylinder mill, bumping up the peak power to 88 horsepower. For reference, the Honda CBR650R makes 86 horsepower from its inline-four, 650cc mill.

What’s interesting here, however, is that the bike also gets a redesigned exhaust system, which hints that QJMotor is likely aiming at lower emissions, essentially helping the 600RR adhere to Euro 5 norms.

Besides these, the cycle parts - Marzocchi USD forks, Brembo brakes, and double-sided swingarm - all look similar to the previous model.

Additionally, the leaked specs suggest that the 2022 600RR tips the scale at 470 pounds (wet) while rolling on 120/180-section (F/R) tires.

Now, this might be a Chinese bike, but with top drawer hardware, it won’t be entirely cheap. However, QJMotor, without a doubt, would be looking to undercut the Honda CBR650R in European markets, meaning it could retail at around 8,000 Euros ( $8,600).
