The 3 Legged Thing Legends Jay Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Quick Leveling Base & AirHed Cine-V Fluid Head is a versatile and modular leveling-base tripod system designed for people who travel.
The system consists of the 3 Legged Thing Jay Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod Legs and a Quick Leveling Base with an AirHed Cine-V head. This head has a 501-style clamp and plate for compatibility with a wide variety of products.
If you are not familiar with 3 Legged Thing, they are a British company that has been around since 2010.
The tripod with the head has a height range of 7.72″ to 47.24″ / 19.6cm to 120cm and twist-lock legs with an improved shim system for greater strength. The 5-section removable carbon fiber legs are light which makes them easy to travel with. The folded length of the tripod is 19.7″ / 50.1cm.
The Tripod system weighs 2.16kg / 4.76lb and it has a payload capacity of 14kg / 30lb.
There is a friction control mechanism on the underside of the tripod head that enables users to make fine adjustments to the leveling base. The leveling base has a built-in bubble level. By using optional accessories and removing the detachable legs, you can turn the tripod into a hi-hat for low-angle shots or on a tabletop setup. Additionally, each detached leg can also double as a monopod or a boom arm.
The legs have detachable rubber Bootz, which can be replaced with any of the many 3 Legged Thing foot accessories for maximum stability on any terrain. The twist-lock leg locks also feature 3 Legged Thing’s O-Pads, which provide improved grip, torque, and water dispersion. The Rapid-Latch angle adjustment system was designed to be easy to use, even for those with impairments or those wearing thick gloves.
The 3 Legged Thing Legends Jay Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Quick Leveling Base & AirHed Cine-V Fluid Head retails for $799.99 USD.
