The TLX Type S is the sportiest Acura sedan in years and it’s getting even more special thanks to a limited PMC Edition.

Set to go up for order later this year, the 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition will be “handcrafted by the same master technicians who build the NSX Type S at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio.”

However, that’s only part of what makes the PMC Edition so unique as the car will be offered in one of three NSX derived colors known as Curva Red, 130R White, and Long Beach Blue. The special touches don’t end there as the sedan features contrasting Berlina Black paint on the roof, antenna, and door handles.

Rounding out the exterior highlights are a black chrome four-tailpipe exhaust system and 20-inch lightweight wheels that feature a Y-spoke design as well as a copper finish, which is a first for Acura. They’re joined by gloss black badging, a carbon fiber spoiler, and a carbon fiber rear diffuser.

The carbon fiber theme continues in the cabin and the lightweight material is joined by Milano leather seats with Ultrasuede inserts. Other highlights include an individually numbered plaque, illuminated sill plates, and special floor mats with colored accent binding.

Speaking of colors, “vehicles finished in Curva Red paint feature an Ebony interior highlighted by red contrast stitching.” Long Beach Blue Pearl models have an Orchid interior with blue stitching, while 130R White models have a red interior.

Each car will be hand-built and then subjected to the same quality control process as the NSX. This includes a “dyno check, paint inspection, and rough-road simulation.” If they pass with flying colors, they’ll be wrapped in a specially designed car cover and then transported to dealers in an enclosed, single-car carrier.

There’s no word on pricing at this point, but the model will feature a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission and a Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system with torque vectoring technology. This enables the standard TLX Type S to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in around five seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The plant is slated to begin production in 2026.

Tesla is expected to have delivered less than 300,000 vehicles in the second quarter.

Chevrolet recently announced price cuts of up to $6,300 for the 2023 Bolt.

The Ford GT is at a significant power disadvantage compared to the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

This Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake had an MSRP of $919,776.

And other automakers aren’t really very close to catching it.

Under the hood lies a 572 ci. big-block V8 that delivers no less than 707 hp.

“I had a lot of emotion, internally. I didn’t want to happy-cry, but there were some tears in my eyes,” said Wickens..

The Lightyear 0 will eventually spawn a much more affordable EV costing around $30,000.

It took a software hack but otherwise the sedan was nearly stock.
