New York – The newest sheet innovation from Welspun isn’t just made differently, it is being marketed differently as well.
Dreamtec was developed by the manufacturing giant’s advanced textiles division and is a composite fabric made of 70% recycled poly, 15% cotton and 15% lyocell. The cotton and lyocell fibers are infused into the poly, giving the finished fabric a subtle pattern.
Third-party testing found that the Dreamtec construction is cooler, drier and more durable than a 300TC, all-cotton percale. In addition, the composite nature of the fabric results in natural wrinkle resistance.
“The result is a percale-lover’s dream come true,” said Christopher Mooney, chief marketing and merchandising officer for Welspun USA.
The fabric is certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), offering shoppers a sustainable product. Dreamtec is available in a wide range of colors and prints. The put-up is marketed not as a “sheet set” but as a “sleep set.”
“We went with a maximalist point of view on the packaging,” said Mooney.
The company is taking advantage of the real estate offered by the self-packaging – which headlines the product as “a bedsheet revolution.” Dreamtec sheets are designed to enhance the body’s natural cooling system. Product attributes include cooling, drying, durability, sustainability and wrinkle resistance.
“The call-outs on the packaging communicate disruption, technology and smartness,” he added. “Dreamtec has a lot of story to tell.”
Welspun’s New York showroom is located at 10 W 33rd St., Penthouse.
