With "only" 500 wheel horsepower, the legendary JDM car has plenty of power to get in trouble and an exhaust so loud that you'll need ear plugs.
Manny Khoshbin owns one of the craziest collections of exotic cars in the world. Except for Ferraris and Lamborghinis, he owns creations from Bugatti, Mercedes, McLaren, and more. Despite owning these supercars and hypercars worth millions of dollars, Manny Khoshbin was still excited to drive a JDM legend – a United States-legal 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34.
This 1999 Nissan GT-R R34 belongs to Marc of the PterodactylTactics YouTube channel. This is actually his second GT-R R34 in around two years. Buying this car is actually a difficult process and a car collector like Manny probably knows it. This could be the reason why he can’t help himself when presented with the opportunity to drive a GT-R R34.

GT-R R34s were still not US-legal when the R35 arrived in 2009 since regulations forbid the import of gray market cars like them. But when a GT-R becomes 25 years old, it becomes exempt from regulations.
Nevertheless, there is a way to import R34s into the US via the Show or Display system. Marc actually took advantage of this system by buying his GT-R from Japan via Phase9MotorSports. GT-Rs imported via this system are for showcasing or displaying only and are drivable on public roads up to 2,500 miles yearly.
This unit is actually a 1999 Nissan Skyline BNR34 GT-R V-Spec in LV4 Midnight Purple 2. Nissan has only produced around 282 units of this certain spec, making it even rarer than the R34 M-Spec Nur. After taking delivery around a year ago, Marc didn’t waste time personalizing this drive. He added Mine’s green carbon fiber parts, changed its suspension, and installed new front brakes.

Furthermore, Marc installed a custom dual titanium straight-piped exhaust system, as well as the famous ARC intercooler. He also had his GT-R R34 ride on a new BBS Wheel setup. Not content, Marc installed Zled lights, added Fast and Furious plates, and fixed new big lips for the BBS LM wheels.
Marc told Manny that his GT-R R34 still has its stock engine which sounds great but really doesn’t deliver much power until it reaches 5,000 rpm. According to Marc, his Nissan currently offers around 500 hp which is nothing compared to tuners that can make the car’s engine as powerful as 2,000 hp.
That soon may change when March shoehorns his newly delivered HKS crate engine which delivers 800 hp of max output and 580 lb-ft of peak torque.
