Tucked in a two-person scull, with her lifelong goal just a mile away, Molly Reckford’s sweaty hands gripped the two carbon fiber oars and pulled them hard through the water. She didn’t know it, but she was seconds away from nearly destroying a pair of Olympic dreams.
