A YouTube channel has created this JDM-inspired electric pickup truck, which features roll bars and bucket seats.
Electric pickup trucks are making a huge breakthrough in the automotive market, from the ultra-futuristic blade runner-inspired Tesla Cyber-Truck to the hyped-up Ford F-150 Lightning.
The market for electric pick-ups is not lacking, but what happens if you find all these options a little too boring. What if you needed something that makes the Cyber-Truck look incredibly tame. The Barcroft Cars YouTube channel has the answer with this Tesla-powered pickup named the S2SLA.

This Ridiculous Rides video takes us to Boca Raton in gorgeous, sunny Florida to meet Mike, who is the genius behind the vehicle. He tells us that in order to stand out in a crowd, you must be willing to do something different, and different this truck is.
The truck's power comes from two Tesla electric motors out of a Model S. Mike tells us, that one would be enough to have fun and power the vehicle, but if you want to do it right you need to go extreme. The vehicle now produces over, 1,200 hp.
Mike tells us that he wanted to combine the most popular aspects of the automotive world. He starts with an American muscle pickup truck, the iconic 1985 Chevrolet C10. He has reworked the body with massive carbon fiber wheel arches and an infinity light tailgate to pay homage to the JDM group. The interior offers a very race-inspired feel with roll bars, bucket seats, and a quick-release steering wheel.
The lack of comfort sacrificed by the racing interior is contrast by the modern technologies and luxuries that you would find in the Tesla, such as the large in-dash screen which displays information about the truck as well as providing entertainment.

Throughout the video, Mike compares the vehicle to being the hot rod of the future. He tells us that an electric vehicle can be cool, and it's only a matter of time before the automotive modification world accepts the electric motor.
The S2SLA, (which the name derives from his garage, Salvage 2 Salvage, and LA being the home of Tesla) attended the SEMA auto show and Mike shares with us that although he did receive some negative comments, most of the response was good. We, for one, love everything about this truck. It is different, and change is not always a bad thing. Keep doing your thing, Mike!
