Dodge launched the fifth out of a series of seven “Last Call” models the company designed to say goodbye to the traditional Charger and Challenger as a new era is about to begin. After the Challenger Shakedown, Charger Super Bee, Challenger and Charger Scat Pack Swinger models, the new Charger King Daytona made its debut at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show. It will be limited to only 300 units and comes with an extra 10 horsepower over the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody - the model it is based on. The sixth model will be unveiled on September 21, 2022, while the last one will arrive at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. You can start placing your orders later in the fall of 2022 when we will also get details on the prices.

The 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona pays tribute to the 1960s and 1970s West Coast drag-racing scene. Back then, William “Big Willie” Robinson nicknamed his 1969 Dodge Charger "King Daytona" and inspired racers to stay on the track and off the streets. He also claimed a lot of victories behind the wheel. This tribute model will be finished in a unique Go Mango finish combined with satin black, to go with a satin black spoiler and satin black King Daytona graphics placed on the rear fender. It rides on 20-by-11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels combined with orange six-piston Brembo brakes. More satin black and chrome badges will complete the exterior picture.

The same theme continues on the inside. The seats are wrapped in black Nappa/Alcantara with orange stitching. Orange accent stitching is also found on the instrument panel, console, steering wheel, and door trim. There is also a Suede headliner, carbon fiber interior bezels, and an Alcantara steering wheel. The King Daytona badges are placed on the instrument panel, while standard features will include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, power sunroof, and a navigation package.

The new Charger King Daytona is based on the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, which means it shares the same 6.2-liter V-8 engine. But, while the Redeye "only" delivers 797 horsepower, for the King Daytona Dodge added an extra 10 horsepower for a total of 807 horsepower. Torque remains unchanged at 707 pound-feet. We don’t expect the extra 10 horsepower to improve the car’s performance figures in any way, which means the new King Daytona will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 203 mph.
